Face Time With the Pros

natasIf you’re interested in going into TV News, the folks at The Philip Merrill School of Journalism (UMD College Park) are holding an event called Face Time with the Pros on Saturday, March 3  at 8:30 a.m. The day long event will include hands-on seminars with TV News industry professionals. The cost is $15 and it includes lunch. You must RSVP by Feb. 23. You can register here.

Study Abroad in Spain this Summer!

barcelonaProfessor Carol Norton is leading a study abroad trip this summer to Barcelona, Spain. The course is called Communication and Global Competence in Barcelona and is for three credits. The dates of the trip are May 28 – June 13. The Institute for Education in International Media (ieiMedia), based out of Loyola University in Maryland, is offering “eight international learning adventures” this summer.

Sportswriting workshop

 

The University of Maryland Philip Merrill College of Journalism is sponsoring an Internet Sportswriting workshop on Saturday, March 9.  Dan Steinberg from the Washington Post is a featured speaker. The workshop is FREE and runs from 11-3. Free lunch is included. To register, email events@povichcenter.org.
